ABOUT JAN STEELE

Jan Steele is a professional Artist/Photographer - Chef -  Recipe Writer

Having been associated with the world of Antique art, Laquer Restoration and Floristry. Jan Steele a self-taught cook, published recipes from her own original menus, prepared and supplied a home dinner party service and opened an exclusive 'Private Dining Room' in the ancient Cotswold village of Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire.

Moving to Midhurst, West Sussex, in the late 1980's. Jan was employed at Cowdray Park as Chef/Florist responsible for Polo functions and family events.

The mid 1990's saw Jan employed as a Creative recipe designer for Harrods food halls, also providing an exclusive dinner party service for her private clientele.

Having incidentally gained Food Science, Design and Administration qualifications Jan, found herself being sought after by Corporate Institutions in the City of London. After several years she became unhappy with the business practices of large organisations and has now devoted herself to the more enduring product of the artist and photographer, applying her natural abilities and expressions in her original artistic works.

Having lived in Paxos, Greece for three years painting from a shop on the Quay at Gaios. Jan returned to Richmond where for eleven years she ran her own studio/gallery from a boathouse on the riverside.

Jan moved to Wiltshire and worked from The Stables Kitchen Great Chalfield Manor, Wiltshire. She also retailed her own recipe, homemade, light lunches, gluten-free cakes & chocolates from her converted stable kitchen.

Obtaining her hearts desire in February, this year (2019) Jan moved, herself, her business & dog to the fabulous village of Appledore in North Devon
